NBA Draft Rumors for June 15, 2012

A deal for Evans has been much speculated upon everywhere. But the Kings are said to want a lot and would hardly add the No. 5 pick with him. Maybe you get the pick for Noah. Hardly Evans and the pick. Maybe you get Evans and the pick for Noah and Deng, which would be ridiculous for the Bulls to do. It makes little sense for either side. NBA.com

Anthony Davis: Today was a good day. Finally got the agent part out of the way. Now I can focus on getting in the gym and working hard Wasserman Media Group

Marcus Thompson: I’m hearing Lillard will now do a private workout with GSW on Sunday. Was previously scheduled to take part in group workout Saturday Twitter

Marc J. Spears: Wasserman Media Group’s Arn Tellem and Thad Foucher will be main agents dealing with soon to be New Orleans Hornet big man Anthony Davis. Twitter

Michael Lee: #iwzards have announced that Connecticut freshman center Andre Drummond is coming in for a solo workout on Monday. Twitter

What details interest the team honchos? Tomas Satoransky: Well, it’s very detailed. At first, I described my family, what they do, where they work or how serious the relationship I have with my girlfriend. They wanted me to describe the development of my career as well, how I’d see myself in the NBA, what are my strengths and weaknesses, how I could help their team or what player I’m similar to with my style of play. And, if I ever had some problems with alcohol, too. What did you answer (about the alcohol)? Tomas Satoransky: That I’m Czech, but I didn’t have any. {laughs} Truth About It

The Blazers are open to trading the Nos. 6 & 11 picks, according to sources familiar with the team’s plans. New general manager Neil Olshey also hinted as much in an interview with The Oregonian. “What we know today is that we have picks six and 11,” Olshey said. “What we don’t know is what six and 11 will become: Do they become young players? Do they become trade assets? Right now, they are just tools.” FOXSportsOhio

Former Kentucky power forward Anthony Davis, who the New Orleans Hornets are expected to select with the No. 1 overall pick in the June 28 draft, will have his first pre-draft workout with the franchise on Tuesday at the Alario Center, according to league sources. New Orleans Times-Picayune

Since Davis has not hired an agent yet, Williams said he’s had a chance to talk with him a lot. Williams said while attending last week’s Chicago pre-draft combine, he met with Davis. “I stay in communication with him,” Williams said. “If the other guys didn’t have an agent, I would talk to them, too. I had a chance to talk to a bunch of guys in Chicago, (Michael) Kidd-Gilchrist, Austin (Rivers), obviously. A lot of guys I saw in the hallways and I shook their hands and kind of told them to beat it.” New Orleans Times-Picayune

Chad Ford: Per sources, unless things change at last minute, Beal & Barnes will work out against each other in Clev tomorrow Twitter

A source said that Robinson, who worked out in Washington (No. 3) on Wednesday, will work out for the Bobcats next Friday. Beal worked out for the Wizards on Thursday, and he is agreeing to work out for only the top four teams. Kidd-Gilchrist is scheduled to work out for Washington on Friday. SI.com

Chris Herrington: Royce White will not be part of Grizzlies draft workout tomorrow. Pulled out due to knee injury of some sort, I’m told. Twitter

Terrence Ross could be an option. Ross averaged 16.4 points and shot 37.1 percent from 3-point range while earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors as a sophomore at the University of Washington. He averaged 25 points in the Pac-12 champion Huskies’ four-game run to the NIT semifinals. “I think I can provide some shooting ability (by making) some 3s, midrange (jumpers), pull-ups and score down low,” Ross said. “I think that’s something they need help with. I think I’d be a perfect fit.” phillyburbs.com

UConn shooting guard Jeremy Lamb remains in the running as a top-10 pick, but his workout with Toronto (No. 8) on Thursday hardly helped his case. Sources said Lamb turned his ankle minutes into the session, and he was expected to cancel a scheduled workout with Portland (Nos. 6 and 11) for Friday. Though the injury is not considered serious, the predraft workout phase is obviously not a good time to be dealing with a weak ankle. SI.com

When it was reported that a lottery team had promised to draft Duke shooting guard Austin Rivers, many suspected that it came from New Orleans with its No. 10 pick. His father, Celtics coach Doc Rivers, and Hornets coach Monty Williams are close friends, and Austin is just the sort of young, confident talent that New Orleans could use during its rebuilding process. But a source with knowledge of the situation insisted that the Hornets have not promised Rivers. SI.com

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist became the latest top NBA draft prospect to work out for the Washington Wizards on Friday, but unlike Thomas Robinson and Bradley Beal in previous days, the former Kentucky forward had the attention of the coaching staff and front office all to himself. Kidd-Gilchrist was the only player to audition for Coach Randy Wittman and team president Ernie Grunfeld during the first of two pre-draft workouts at Verizon Center’s auxiliary court, performing a host of shooting drills as the Wizards search for a perimeter upgrade, among other needs, to complement point guard John Wall. “A lot of shooting,” Kidd-Gilchrist said of the session that lasted approximately an hour and a half. “I did good for the most part, I think. I was real comfortable with myself.” Washington Post
