“I don’t really pay attention to any of the mock drafts,” Michael Carter-Williams told WEEI.com’s Ben Rohrbach on his Green Street podcast. “At the end of the day, they’re all pretty much wrong anyway.” WEEI.com

Given some time to mull the possibility of playing for his hometown C’s, Carter-Williams sang a different tune on Rohrbach’s podcast this week. “If I was drafted by the Celtics, I’d be just as happy as I would being drafted by anyone else,” said the 21-year-old. “It’s a great place. It’s been home to me. It would be a blessing to play there. I’d be real excited. I guess the question caught me off guard. That’s how I really feel. I’d be happy to play for them as well as any other team.” WEEI.com

Much is happening behind the scenes during what seems like a quiet time for the Minnesota Timberwolves. “We’ve got a pretty good list and have an idea where players are rated,” Saunders said Tuesday between sessions of pre-draft workouts open to several other franchises. “We kind of have people boxed in, but there are a lot of other things that can happen, whether it’s moving up in the draft, whether it’s moving down in the draft, depending on if you make a move with players.” Fox Sports North

On Thursday, Southerland’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Chicago-based Priority Sports, said James Southerland already had eight more visits with NBA teams scheduled. According to Bartelstein, Southerland will work out for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz over the next few weeks. “He’s visiting a bunch of teams,” Bartelstein said. “He’s going to be very, very busy.” The Post-Standard

Look for new Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders to engage Charlotte, holders of the No. 4 pick in next month’s draft, in trade talks. According to league sources, Saunders is a big fan of Indiana guard Victor Oladipo, and the only way to get him is to move up from the ninth-spot. 1500 ESPN
