NBA Draft Rumors for June 17, 2012

Evan Fournier

Would it be harder on the father or the son? “Both,” Austin said. “Because we’re both very competitive. I get everything from him. Obviously. He’s my dad. It would be different and be tough. But I think it could work out if it did happen. I don’t think it will. But if it did, I think it could work out.” NBA.com

Fournier is 6-foot-7 with a nice shooting touch and plenty of confidence. He believes he can make the leap from the first division of French basketball – he averaged 14.0 points for Poitiers last season – to the NBA. “I can play point guard sometimes to help the team, because I like to have the ball in my hands,” Fournier said. “But I’m a shooting guard.” San Antonio Spurs star Manu Ginobili has served as a role model for the French player. “I don’t have a favorite player but I love his game,” Fournier saidMilwaukee Journal-Sentinel

A deal for Evans has been much speculated upon everywhere. But the Kings are said to want a lot and would hardly add the No. 5 pick with him. Maybe you get the pick for Noah. Hardly Evans and the pick. Maybe you get Evans and the pick for Noah and Deng, which would be ridiculous for the Bulls to do. It makes little sense for either side. NBA.com

I can never ever remember when the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the NBA drafted has waited this long to sign with an agent or agency. But Kentucky’s Anthony Davis is still mulling his choices, apparently between the Wasserman Media Group, Creative Artists Agency and Bill Duffy’s BDA SportsRacine Journal-Times

The Bobcats are actively talking to teams about trading the No. 2 pick. Why? Not only is there no franchise player at No. 2, but I’m told there’s a bit of a split right now in Charlotte between taking Robinson or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.Sources say Michael Jordan isn’t sold on building around the limited offensive arsenal of Kidd-Gilchrist, but the team also has questions about how high Robinson’s ceiling isESPN.com

The ninth pick in this year’s NBA Draft should be Washington’s Terrence Ross. I like everything about this young man. He averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds and made 45 percent of his shots from the field last season. This Portland, Oregon native grabbed ten or more rebounds in six games and recorded six double-doubles. T.R. scored in double
figures 32 times and hit for 32 tallies against Northwestern (March 16) in a  NIT tournament second round contest.
